I woke up this morning with yaya already here. She went home last night to visit her son.She asked me of what was my decision. "About what?" I asked. About the text message we received last night that her parent in law died yesterday. I told her to go home Tuesday so that we can find a temporary yaya to replace her. If we find within the day she could go.
She replied, "I need to go home at 9am today."
"Why?"
"I was the one doing the decisions for their family. They will wait for me for the decisions."
"Cant you call and tell them what they need to do and inform them that you will be there by Tuesday?"
"They cant decide."
"Then call them."
"When are you going back?".
"I do not know."
"Who will take care of Andrei?"
"I do not know. It's up to you", she replied again.
I was frustrated.
We hurriedly went to the market, have breakfast and look for her temporary replacement. We were fortunate enough to find one.
My only worry is that I do not have the money to pay her. My money was on budget. Salary is tomorrow and she is supposed to also have her salary tomorrow.
And as I predicted, she was asking for her salary. I told her that is also one reason why I need her to stay until Monday.
"You dont understand me." she said
I said I do... but I really do not have the finances today... pls wait until tomorrow.
"No, I need to go home today. You dont understand me."
She left.
I understand the pain of losing someone. I experienced that too. What I was sad about is that I never saw her sense of responsibility to my family. I was just requesting her to stay for a day... to give us enough time to find a replacement and for her to get the salary she needs.
I dont know. Her actions reflected that I am insensitive of her family and her feelings.
